Grill’d boss lobbied for taxpayer subsidies as profits ‘decimated’

Access to a generous taxpayer-funded wage subsidy was expanded by the Morrison government weeks after Grill’d chief executive Simon Crowe lobbied for access because his profits were being “decimated”.
The national burger chain went on to become the biggest user of the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) program, claiming $16.6 million to subsidise half the wages of 2800 trainees.
