The government's debt manager will issue $3 billion fewer bonds this financial year, despite economists calls for more fiscal stimulus.

The Australian Office of Financial Management said on Tuesday it expected to issue $55 billion in treasury bonds in 2019-20, down from its original program of $58 billion.
