Chalmers’ energy rebate won’t change RBA’s mind on rates, inflation
Reserve Bank of Australia governor Michele Bullock says government energy bill rebates will not meaningfully affect underlying inflation, and they will not make the central bank more likely to cut interest rates.
“We try to look through things that are one-off and are going to be reversed,” Ms Bullock told the Senate on Wednesday.
