Cafe owner says squeezed customers are paying with 30-year-old notes

Sydney café owner Tony Franze says his customers have started buying coffees with notes printed 30 years ago in what he believes is a sign households are struggling to meet rising living costs.

Mr Franze, 51, runs Espresso Tony at Croydon Park, in the city’s inner west. He is also an avid notaphilist, or collector of banknotes.
