ASX to rise, Wall Street ends lower to start its week

Australian shares are poised open higher, as media and communications stocks turned lower. Tech, which opened lower, turned higher. Iron ore, oil and gold each advanced.

ASX futures were up 11 points or 0.2 per cent to 7030 near 7am AEST, reversing earlier modest losses. The currency was flat. The yield on the US 10-year note edged up 2 basis points to 1.65 per cent near 4.59pm in New York.
