SA Premier Peter Malinauskas warns COVID numbers set to double
The New South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas warned on Tuesday that daily COVID cases are set to more than double by mid-April in the state as he pushed for much more transparency by public officials in managing the “COVID curveball”, as the state’s hospital system buckles.
Mr Malinauskas was sworn in as SA’s 47th Premier on Monday after a resounding election win over Liberal leader Steven Marshall and had been watching from the sidelines in the pandemic as Opposition leader, generally taking a bipartisan approach to backing the health advice over the past two years.
