The Coalition’s attempt to scrap responsible lending laws appears dashed after Pauline Hanson confirmed she would not support the plan, describing it as against the best interests of millions of Australians.

Senator Hanson warned Treasurer Josh Frydenberg against dragging Australia “back to the horror days” when banks called the shots for households, as she criticised provisions in a bill before the Senate that One Nation believes favours the big four banks.
