How golf taught this CEO not to sweat the small stuff

Karmo’s Nick Boucher learnt to play by putting into buried tin cans – and now dreams of playing Augusta. He answers our Time Out Q&A.

Nick Boucher is chief executive and founder at Karmo, a car subscription and rideshare provider. He lives in Brisbane.

How did you start playing golf?
I first learnt in my grandparents’ yard in Morningside, Brisbane, in a chippable nine-hole golf course that my Pop made. Every time I stayed over, he’d set up new holes, mow fairways and shorter greens, and bury old tins in the ground as cups. I started to play on a proper course when I was 13. I used to jump on hole 7 at my then local, Ashgrove, for a quick three free holes away from the prying eyes of members (and Gareth, the local pro).
