The Girard-Perregaux La Esmeralda Tourbillon is a rose gold and green enamelled timepiece that might reek contemporary savoir-faire, but brings to life a design that first appeared on a drawing board back in 1860.

It was then that Swiss watchmaker Constant Girard pencilled the “three bridges” architecture, around which his mechanisms took shape, a distinctive solution that retains its elegant promise to this day.
