NSW kicks off cladding remediation work

Michael Bleby

NSW kicked off its cladding rectification program, which will cost it $260 million in subsidies, on Tuesday, with the removal of combustible panels from a residential building in Sydney’s inner-city suburb of Darlington.

The building is one of 33 in the city and western suburbs to be tackled under the first tranche of work, and the first test of a rectification process that aims to correct 274 buildings across the state that to date are eligible for the program.
