Australia’s best Olympic week since Beijing started and finished in the pool. On Monday, Ariarne Titmus won the 400 metres freestyle final, followed on Tuesday by Kaylee McKeown’s Olympic record-setting 100m backstroke final win and another gold in the women’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay.

Titmus came back on Wednesday to win the 200m freestyle with another Olympic record and on Thursday Zac Stubblety-Cook did the same in the men’s 200m breaststroke. Emma McKeon set a new Olympic record on Friday in the 100m freestyle.
