Temple & Webster chief executive Mark Coulter says the shakeout in the furniture and homewares retail sector is over, and it has returned to growth this financial year, fostering confidence that Australia’s consumer downturn has passed.

The e-commerce group joined JB Hi-Fi in defying downbeat expectations for discretionary retail stocks as it delivered record annual sales of $498 million for 2023-24.
