Brazilian meat giant JBS says fish farming has big upside

Brazilian meat giant JBS, the new owner of Tasmanian salmon farmer Huon Aquaculture, plans to make more acquisitions in aquaculture and says the Tasmanian salmon industry needs to do a better job of explaining itself to the wider community.

JBS has just taken the keys to the Huon business after a $425 million takeover, and Australian chief executive Brent Eastwood said it is the first plank in a broader expansion plan globally for the group, as the popularity of seafood rises amid a greater focus on health and wellbeing from consumers.
