ACCC reviewing credit data deal as Experian pounces on illion

The competition regulator is probing Irish credit file giant Experian’s proposed $US532 million ($820 million) acquisition of illion, which competes with US-based Equifax supplying local banks with the data they use to evaluate borrowers.
Control of strategic consumer credit data sets has been put into play as Archer Capital looks to sell illion, as its private equity portfolios are wound down.
