Ampol shares surge to record high

Shares in fuel refiner and petrol station owner Ampol traded at record highs on Monday, but investors say the stock will push higher as the market has mistakenly undervalued the fossil fuel supplier as a “sunset” company.

Australia’s largest fuel supplier traded 1.41 per cent higher to $38.12 on Monday following a strong full-year result featuring a higher than expected special dividend.
