The alleged victim of a recent shooting at Royal Park has faced court charged over accusations he made threats to two men less than two weeks after he was shot.

John Gabby Rahme, 47, who is the alleged victim of an attempted murder in January, last month faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court on three charges of threatening to cause harm.

According to court documents released to The Advertiser, two of the charges related to two of Mr Rahme’s associates and came on January 29, just 12 days after the alleged shooting.

There is no suggestion the attempted murder allegations and threat allegations are linked.

The alleged threats, according to the documents, were aimed at a former employee of Mr Rahme’s tiling business, and one of that man’s friends.

“About 2.15pm on January 29 (Mr Rahme’s former employee) received a voicemail from Mr Rahme threatening to take his toenails off and extinguish cigarettes on his hands,” the documents alleged.

The documents alleged Mr Rahme was pursuing a $1000 debt owed to him by his former employee’s friend over the sale of a car.

A third threat, alleged by the documents, was made by Mr Rahme towards his father’s neighbour early in 2022 when he was refused the sale of cannabis.

“ (Mr Rahme said to the third alleged victim) ‘I will kill you if you speak to my father, I will f——— you up when I come back,” the documents alleged.

“ (Mr Rahme) called (the third alleged victim) a liar before laughing maniacally then drove off,” the documents alleged.

According to the documents, it is alleged two of the men were “aware” Mr Rahme had a reputation for “standing over” people and being “incredibly violent”.

Police have previously alleged Mr Rahme was shot in the shoulder in mid-January while leaving his Royal Park warehouse.

He was rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet from his body.

The Port Adelaide Magistrates Court in January heard three men - Troy Trengove, Tyrone Doyle-Tarrant and Kurt Kernahan - had been charged with Mr Rahme’s alleged attempted murder following the shooting.

A third person, 22-year-old woman Tiana Zenari has also been faced court in relation to the shooting, charged with aiding and abetting attempted murder and failing to truly answer questions.

During the hearings for the quartet, the court heard Trengove was the alleged shooter while the other two men allegedly forced their way into Mr Rahme’s warehouse.

Ms Zenari, the court heard, was allegedly waiting in a nearby car.

Magistrate Roderick Jensen last month granted Mr Rahme bail and he will next face court in March.
