A young man fled the scene of a single vehicle crash near the Toowoomba Airport but has since been apprehended, while a woman was rushed to hospital after she was hit by a car in an unrelated incident in the CBD.

Police are investigating after a man fled the scene of a single-vehicle crash near the Toowoomba Airport.
About 8.20pm on Thursday, a white Volkswagen Transporter was travelling south on McDougall St when it left the road and crashed into a fence.
The passengers of the vehicle left on foot prior to police arrival.
It has been reported that police contacted the 34-year-old driver and told him to return to the scene.
He is now assisting police with their inquiries.
In an unrelated incident, a woman suffered a significant leg injury after she was hit by a car at the corner of Ruthven and Herries streets about 6.15pm, on Thursday.
She was transported to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
