Melbourne City, Sydney FC at top of W-League ladder, Wanderers, Newcastle Jets beaten

FOUR rounds into the premier football league for women in Australia and only one team can boast a perfect record.

Melbourne City now have three wins from their opening three games and are on top of the league ladder.

Sydney Fc is in second place, courtesy of a great win on the weekend which has extended their record to three wins and a loss.

The Newcastle Jets were the big losers, suffering a 5-2 thumping at the hands of Canberra United.

W-LEAGUE: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Wanderers broke through for their first win of the season last round but were unable to replicate the feat against Roar.

The Wanderers were left scoreless as Roar took the match 2-0.

The Newcastle Jets crashed from the top of the points ladder all the way down to fifth with this loss.

Michelle Heyman did much of the damage, scoring two for Canberra in the big-scoring match.
