Tina Alexander in court after threatening neighbour at Shirley St, Moura

A Central Queensland woman who threatened her neighbour and unloaded a barrage of obscenities on the public and police, has been dealt with in court.

A Moura woman who threatened her neighbour and swore at the public and police during a drunken rage, has been fined.

Tina Lee Alexander, 47, was charged with public nuisance.

In Biloela Magistrates Court on July 5, Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale accepted Alexander’s guilty plea in writing and heard the matter ex parte.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Kevin Ongheen said at 8.30pm on June 11, police were called to Shirley St, Moura, in relation to Alexander yelling and swearing at members of the public.

Sgt Ongheen said when police arrived, they saw that Alexander was heavily intoxicated and she began yelling threats to the public and obscenities towards police.

The prosecutor said that police asked Alexander to go home, which was in the same street.

“She walked there, stood in front of her yard and continued to yell and swear,” Sgt Ongheen said.

The court heard that police gave Alexander multiple warnings about her language but she ignored those and continued with her behaviour including making a threat to a neighbour.

Sgt Ongheen said Alexander refused to go with police after being arrested so she was handcuffed and taken to Moura Police Station.

Magistrate Beckinsale noted that Alexander had not made any submissions in writing other than to say she was remorseful for her actions from that evening.

Ms Beckinsale fined Alexander $400 and no conviction was recorded.
