A father has faced court after he was involved in a heated road rage incident at Gladstone traffic lights.

Stephen Gregory Wayne Tille, 37, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 13 to public nuisance.

The court heard that about 8.55pm on May 26, Tille was driving in the Kin Kora suburb when he became angered at another vehicle which “cut in front of” him.

The court was told that Tille and a person in the other vehicle were known to each other as they had been involved in a dispute on Facebook.

Police prosecutor Jennifer Leach said Tille then followed the vehicle until it stopped at a red light.

There, Tille got out of his vehicle and he punched the driver’s side window of the other vehicle three times, Ms Leach said.

“And (Tille) kicked at the vehicle as the victims fled,” Ms Leach said.

The prosecutor said Tille immediately went to Gladstone Police Station to speak with police about the matter.

“(Tille) made full admissions to the incident and informed police that he came down as he regretted his actions instantly and wanted to assist police in resolving the matter,” Ms Leach said.

The court heard Tille had no similar offending on his two-page criminal history.

Solicitor Rio Ramos said Tille was a truck driver and the Facebook dispute had been in relation to his daughter.

Acting Magistrate Mary Buchanan fined Tille $600 and a conviction was recorded.
