A number of people have faced court after they were busted in a police sting targeting shoplifters at a Central Queensland shopping centre.

A number of people have faced court after they were busted in a police operation targeting shoplifters at Yeppoon Central Shopping Centre.
Here’s who faced Yeppoon Magistrates Court and what happened to them.
Mark Lesley Klerck, 64
Klerck pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 15 to stealing.
The court heard that on April 17, Klerck took $376.75 worth of items from Woolworths, Yeppoon Central, and left the store without paying for them.
Police arrested Klerck outside the store and they returned all of the stolen items to Woolworths.
He had no criminal history.
Solicitor Felicity Davis said Klerck was formerly a chef but he was not currently working due to health issues.
Magistrate Lance Rundle placed Klerck on a six-month good behaviour order with a $500 recognisance.
No conviction was recorded.
Jason Andrew Kanofski, 51
Kanofski pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 15 to shoplifting.
The court heard that on April 17, Kanofski was seen at Woolworths, Yeppoon Central, paying for some items at a checkout but he left the store without paying for $114 worth of products.
A self-represented Kanofski told Magistrate Lance Rundle he was a truck driver and the court heard he had a one-page criminal history with no like offending.
Mr Rundle fined Kanofski $200 and no conviction was recorded.
Kerry Chandelle Fisher, 47
Fisher pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 15 to shoplifting.
The court heard that on April 17, Fisher used the self-serve check-outs at Woolworths, Yeppoon Central, where she paid for some items but not for $51.80 worth of products.
Police arrested Fisher after she left the store.
She had no criminal history.
A self-represented Fisher told Magistrate Lance Rundle she worked for the Department of Education supporting children with needs in primary school.
Mr Rundle placed Fisher on a three-month good behaviour order with a $200 recognisance.
No conviction was recorded.
Christine Elizabeth Craker, 62
Craker pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 15 to shoplifting.
The court heard that on April 17, Craker took $26 worth of products at Woolworths, Yeppoon Central, and left the store without paying for them.
Police took up with her and returned the stolen items to Woolworths.
Craker had a two-entry criminal history with no similar offending.
A self-represented Craker told Magistrate Lance Rundle she was employed as a support worker.
Mr Rundle placed her on a three-month good behaviour order with a $200 recognisance.
No conviction was recorded.
Kaysha Jaide Adsett-Murfet, 27
Adsett-Murfet pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 15 to shoplifting.
The court heard that on April 16, Adsett-Murfet used the self-serve check-outs at Woolworths, Yeppoon Central, where she scanned and paid for some items but not $82 worth of products.
After leaving the store, Adsett-Murfet was stopped by police and arrested.
She had no criminal history.
A self-represented Adsett-Murfet told Magistrate Lance Rundle she was a single mum of two and she was “appalled by my actions.”
Mr Rundle placed Adsett-Murfet on a six-month good behaviour order with a $200 recognisance.
No conviction was recorded.
Asher Harley Bauer, 26
Bauer pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 1 to stealing.
The court heard that on April 17, Bauer left Woolworths at Yeppoon Central without paying for $175.10 worth of items.
When questioned by police at the centre, Bauer told them he was going camping and his friends told him to steal the items.
Police returned all of the items back to Woolworths.
Bauer had a two-page criminal history which did not include previous dishonesty offending.
A self-represented Bauer told Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale that he was employed and there was no excuse for what he did.
Ms Beckinsale fined him $500 and no conviction was recorded.
Hayley Grace Kane, 18
Kane pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 1 to shoplifting.
The court heard that on April 16, Kane used a self-serve checkout at Woolworths, Yeppoon Central, where she scanned and paid for a number of items but not a $22 body scrub.
It was told after she left the store without paying for the body scrub, police arrested her.
Kane had no criminal history.
Solicitor Felicity Davis said Kane was employed at the Capricorn Tavern and also studying a nursing degree.
Magistrate Beckinsale placed Kane on a six-month good behaviour order with a $200 recognisance.
No conviction was recorded.
Charlee Beth Wainwright, 19
Wainwright pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 1 to shoplifting.
The court heard that on April 16, Wainwright took $36.50 worth of beauty items from Woolworths, Yeppoon Central, without paying for them.
Police intercepted Wainwright on an escalator leaving the centre and they returned the stolen items to Woolworths.
Wainwright had no criminal history.
A self-represented Wainwright told Magistrate Beckinsale that she worked as a bar tender.
Ms Beckinsale placed Wainwright on a six-month good behaviour order with a $400 recognisance and no conviction was recorded.
Jamila Amari Ahern, 21
Ahern pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 1 to stealing.
The court heard that on April 6, Ahern was at Woolworths, Yeppoon Central, when she filled a trolley with $400 worth of items.
It was told Ahern proceeded to the self-serve check-outs and wheeled the trolley past two store attendants, leaving the store without paying for anything.
When questioned by police, Ahern told them she stole the products because she was “going through hardship” and “had not eaten properly in three weeks.”
Ahern had no criminal history.
Solicitor Felicity Davis said Ahern had been struggling to get full-time work and struggling financially.
Magistrate Beckinsale placed Ahern on a six-month good behaviour order with a $500 recognisance.
No conviction was recorded.
