A new property development company has partnered with a local builder to provide much-needed housing on the Capricorn Coast and in Rockhampton.

Brad Neven of Beef to Reef Enterprises, headed by Jason Thomasson, said he felt there was a gap in the market for boutique property management and development.

“We are in the best part of the world, we are in the Beef Capital of Australia, (the) doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef,” Mr Neven said.

“We are just trying to, in its infancy, develop a company that caters to people looking to either move or retire.”

Beef to Reef has partnered with builders Pavscorp, run by Pavel Cheimardinov.

“We love to support local businesses and people who own and operate their own companies and Pav fits that bill,” Mr Neven said.

“He’s a quality builder in town, he’s having a crack like the rest of us.”

Mr Cheimardinov said he was very excited to be working with the Beef to Reef team.

“The biggest thing I was really keen on was the money to stay local, I relocated here seven years ago and we had been doing a lot of commercial (work) and now we have wrapped that up... (we are) really branching out into these new homes,” he said.

Work started last week on Ocean Breeze Estate in Meikleville Hill.

The first property will be a double-storey home, expected to take between 12 to 16 weeks to build.

“Meikleville Hill is already established, it was a parcel of land that was available,” Mr Neven said.

“We are just looking for that boutique, special bit of land you can develop.

“People can move here, retire here, (it’s) low maintenance, have a quality product they are going to move in.”

The estate had 13 blocks for sale, with ocean views and fully serviced.

“We had pretty good pick up on those, 99 per cent of them are gone, there is just one left, lot 12 on the corner and we are expecting that to go quickly.”

Beef to Reef also have Mountain View Estate in Lakes Creek underway which only has three blocks left for sale.

The estate is nestled in the foothills of the Berserker Ranges, accessed off Emu Park Road from Ballard Street and 10 minutes to the Rockhampton CBD.

“It’s a beautiful outlook there, the river is just there, the mountains,” Mr Neven said.

They have previously completed a nine-block, one-acre development, Jagger Heights on Tanby Road.

“We have a few other projects in the pipeline, relying on approvals with councils and things like that at the moment,” Mr Neven said.

“Watch this space. ”

In terms of the industry, Mr Cheimardinov from Pavscorp said the building challenges have come to an end and they are at a new level now.

“There’s a lot of talk around challenges and price increases but I think they have now plateaued and people should be very confident now moving forward with the prices,” he said.

“I don’t think there should be any surprises if you are out there building.”
