A wild roadside brawl and a man’s stunt-like dive to stop a ute from allegedly being stolen has been caught on camera. Watch the action.

A wild brawl between three men and two women on the side of a busy north Rockhampton street has been captured on video.

Jason Kissick, who filmed the incident, said he and his partner Courtney Mitchell were sitting inside their Dean St home on Sunday afternoon when they heard the shocking kerfuffle break out in the front yard.

“I work in Toowoomba and am here monthly because of bub, so it was lucky it was a day I was here,” the dad said.

“I was on the couch with my partner and we just heard screaming and swearing and we got up to the window and they were starting to walk down the street.

Mr Kissick said he believed the commotion might have been caused by a traffic incident further up the road.

“The lady with the skateboard, I think she was just riding it and she might have pulled out in front of the car or something and that’s what triggered them,” he said.

“That might have just happened up the road and they stopped out front of ours and that’s what caused the guys to walk down… it’s hard to explain, I don’t know.

“When the weapons came out I thought something serious was going to happen and I was almost going to go out do the old typical ‘get off my lawn’ sort of thing, but Courtney didn’t want me to go out so I just kept recording.

“I noticed no one was really getting hurt, it was just a lot of shoving and nonsense.”

The beginning of the video shows four people surrounding a ute yelling at each other, with one person holding what appears to be a large stick.

One of the men in the video then goes to the toolbox on the back of the vehicle and takes out a large pair of bolt cutters, walking over to the man with the stick.

The video then shows one of the men in the group walk over to a fifth person, who is holding a skateboard.

The man is then hit with the skateboard, before the video shows the man with the stick and cutters kicking each other.

No charges have been laid against anyone involved in the incident.

“There were the two blokes in the ute who were already parked out the front of the house and the other two fellas walked down,” Jason said.

“There was a lot of not violent violence going on I suppose and they were just going at it, but it was pretty funny, a lot going on.”

Police arrived after the group had dispersed.

Mr Kissick said police officers spoke with two gentlemen who live in Dean St, who were involved in the incident.

“I ended up going out there when it all broke up because the cops did come and they wanted evidence,” he said.

“The lady with the skateboard had her handle ripped from her bag and that was in the yard still and the stick was left right in front of our house.

“When they saw the video they realised the guys up the road made a few lies to them, they were like ‘oh, that didn’t happen’ and that kind of thing.”
