An alleged drink driver has allegedly returned an extraordinary drink driving reading after being found by police behind the wheel on the Isis Highway.

A Nanango man has been charged with high range drink driving after allegedly going more than six times over the legal limit this week.
About 6pm, officers were called to assist a man allegedly under the influence of an intoxicating substance while behind the wheel of a stationary vehicle on the side of the Isis Highway at Dallarnil.
The 50-year-old man allegedly provided a positive roadside breath test, registering more than six times the legal limit with a reading of 0.337.
He was transported to Biggenden Police Station for further testing, police said, and charged with one count of driving under the influence of liquor.
The man is due to appear before Maryborough Magistrates Court on January 8, 2024.

“It is careless to drive a vehicle after consuming alcohol when it is clear you will be over the limit, Acting Inspector Shelley Moore of Maryborough Patrol Group said in a statement Friday.
“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility and drink driving is selfish, placing every other road user at risk.

“We all know, drinking alcohol reduces your ability to drive safely, affecting your judgement, vision, co-ordination and reflexes, increasing your risk of having a crash.”

“If you’re over, it’s over,” she said.
