A caring mum known for her unwavering love died protecting her daughter in a shocking head-on collision during the morning school run.

Carli Fisher, 32, has been identified as a loving mum who tragically lost her life in a head-on collision near Gin Gin on Tuesday, May 14.

Known for her vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her daughter, Carli’s death has rocked her family, friends and the community.

On Tuesday morning, Carli and her nine-year-old daughter, Angel-May, were travelling along Gin Gin Mount Perry Rd on the way to school when their vehicle collided head-on with another car.

Emergency services, including two RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopters arrived on scene but Carli could not be saved.

Close friend Leah Hall said everyone had been talking about how Carli shielded her daughter’s body with her own.

“She saved her daughter’s life. She’s a hero. That baby girl was her world,” Ms Hall said.

Carli was loved by many for her lively personality and the joy she brought to others.

Another heartbroken friend Rachel Rae said Carli was a dear friend.

“I’m heartbroken and can barely string words together.”

Rebecka Collier echoed her sentiment.

“Carli was an absolutely beautiful friend throughout and an even better mother. She was so young and vibrant, we had so many good times. She will be so deeply missed,” Ms Collier said.

Carli’s mother, Joy Fisher, expressed her profound sorrow in a touching public Facebook post.

“There will be a memorial held in Bundaberg in the not too distant future and we will keep everyone posted with details as they arise.”

“Many people are grieving. Not just our family, so please be kind and hold those you love just that little bit tighter - you never know when they won’t be there.”

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said no charges had been laid and an investigation into the crash was ongoing.
