Sausage rolls
A favourite dish of Gwen Landsberry's grandchildren are her sausage rolls - something she has been making for so long she isn't sure where the recipe came from.
Ingredients
500g sausage mince
1½ tbsp finely chopped parsley
1 tsp salt
1 tsp hot English mustard
½ tsp fine pepper
3 sheets puff pastry
milk for glazing
cooking spray
Method
Preheat oven to 200C. Mix mince, parsley, salt, mustard and pepper in a bowl using a wooden spoon initially, then by hand. Cut each pastry sheet into three equal-sized strips. Put a roll of mince mixture across each strip. Glaze the edges on each side of the mince strip with milk. Roll each strip firmly then glaze the top with milk.
Chop each long roll into five small sausage rolls. Slash each sausage roll across the top with a knife twice. Place on a greased oven tray (or an oven tray sprayed with cooking spray). Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
