La Cannella
Italian$$
Lucky Kensington, it’s got the lot: train station, public pool, town hall and La Cannella. Family-friendly but not kid-focused, the neat, stripped-back room is an especially warm and well-worked environment. Pizza bases are thin and crunchy with fresh and punchy toppings, and all can be ordered in kid sizes. The Diavolo is a standout with smoked scamorza, ham, artichoke, anchovies and olives, alongside simple options like sauteed mushrooms, goat’s cheese and thyme. There’s also a mix of seasonally changing a la carte dishes like lamb shanks, and long-standing favourites such as gnocchi with a blue cheese.
