Red Rabbit

Asian$$

Asymmetrical chairs. Pretty tea-party settings. Red wall stencils of fruit and the eponymous rabbit. A cool Asian take on Alice in Wonderland? The white walls, sheer curtains and leather banquettes of the upstairs dining room are perhaps more Alice in Woollahra. The pan-Asian menu includes duck pancakes with pickles and mint yoghurt that, at first glance, seems a bit Mad Hatter. But try them on a hot Sydney day and they make perfect sense. Tamarind-glazed chicken wings and Thai-style sirloin and green mango salad are stand-outs. At $3 and $4 a piece, yum cha is best left to the downstairs bar cocktail set.
