Green Bamboo
Vietnamese$$
There's always a smiling welcome and attentive service at this stylish local favourite. They describe their food as Vietnamese but 'Asian' might be a more accurate description of the menu, which features dishes from around the Asia-Pacific region, the common thread being fresh, good-quality produce. Start with the rice-paper rolls and tangy peanut sauce, or the velvety lamb pancakes. On cold nights, the chicken turmeric with lemongrass and coconut milk is a subtly spiced comfort, as is prawn red curry, while stir-fries, noodles and salads are perfect for warmer nights (and we love the salt-and-pepper squid, regardless of what the thermometer says). Weekends get busy - and noisy - so be sure to book.
