There's something about Agape's community-focused ethos, all-organic, biodynamic and local/sustainable menu and comforting yet clever cooking that just makes you feel part of the family. And this is a family affair (brother and sister co-owners and mother often on the floor). Then there are all-embracing dishes such as king salmon ceviche, with a creamy nest of lime, chilli and tangy avocado and the crunch of popped quinoa and delicate spelt crispbread. A margherita spelt pizza explodes with the sunny taste of tomato and basil, while slow-roasted pork belly tangles with crisped wakame-like kale and sage and crushed potatoes, fresh-diced apples and spring onions. Carefully conceived slow-braised Gundooee wagyu beef comes with a peppery carrot puree and a speckled sea of black quinoa and truffle butter. A chocolate spelt brownie, almond praline and vanilla ice-cream will have you chasing the chocolate sauce around the plate.
