Tien Dat
Vietnamese$$
Every day is a busy day at Tien Dat. It's one of many Vietnamese restaurants in the 'hood, but it remains popular (after 30 years) for dependably fresh, classic Vietnamese food. Few can resist the lure of thin spring rolls fried to a perfect crunch, but the soft steamed pancake rolls, sprinkled with fried shallots and stuffed with prawns, are worth a menu side-trip. Mains don't disappoint either: salt-and-pepper squid is crunch-perfect and 'bo la lot' - grilled cigars of minced beef wrapped in betel leaf - are deliciously smoky and garlicky. Efficient staff will have you fed and happy in no time.
