POLICE have recovered a stolen car used in a ram raid during a crime spree in Palmerston in the early hours of Wednesday morning, “literally like two streets away”.
Soon to be new mum Laura Rees discovered her car missing shortly after midnight and told the NT News she was worried about how she’d get around once her child was born.

But after the car was recovered — complete with a new boom box, presumably left by the thieves as compensation — Ms Rees said the damage was not as bad as she expected.
“It is (drivable) but I’m still going to have to get it repaired so who knows how long that’ll take,” she said.
“The key’s (still) missing, I had a spare but it’d be nice if anyone was to find it to get it back.”
Ms Rees had been left feeling “pretty devastated” after the theft but on Thursday said she was holding up better after a decent night’s sleep.
A spokesman for NT Police said a 15-year-old boy had been arrested in connection with the incident and was assisting investigators with their inquiries.
“Northern Territory Police have recovered the stolen vehicle used in yesterday’s unlawful entries around Palmerston,” he said.
“Strike Force Trident investigations continue.”
