The 33-year-old woman is due to appear in Darwin Local Court on June 25.

The officer has been suspended with pay and the matter is under investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

A police statement read: “as the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.”

“This information is provided in accordance with the NT Police Transparency Guidelines.”
