Among today’s names is no doubt our most controversial selection in The List so far — Dylan Voller.

Voller’s story on the ABC’s Four Corners — and the image of him, hooded and strapped into a restraint chair while incarcerated at Don Dale — almost single handedly led to an overnight Royal Commission into youth detention in the Northern Territory.

The images went worldwide and Australians asked themselves is this what they believed juvenile justice in this country should be?

The new Northern Territory government has already moved to permanently ban the use of the mechanical restraint chairs — the same chair Voller was pictured in — for young offenders in detention.
