HOLD on tight everyone. This is getting serious. Our Most Powerful list is fast approaching the pointy end.

Our first 50 selections have certainly got the Territory talking. And not all of that language has been of the polite variety ... at least that of it directed towards whoever’s putting the names on The List (or leaving them out).

But you aint seen anything yet. The 120 still has plenty of controversies to throw up. Just wait..

And you’ll only find it, exclusively, on the NT News website ntnews.com.au, which counts down from numbers 70-61 today.

Just click on each picture in our interactive graphic below to find out a bit more about our list makers and why we’ve placed them where we have.

What did you think of our choices today?

There’s sure to be some discussion over our decision to include Jon Tippett QC and Peter Maley at 62 and 63 as the NT legal world’s power tag team.

Major cases from the Danny Deacon murder trial to that of the eventually jailed travel agent, Xana Kamitsis — who still made the power list herself — have been defended by them.

Also, what did you think of our selections on Friday?

There was plenty of talk about our decision to place Gary Higgins and Lia Finnochiaro — or, the alternative NT government, as they’re otherwise known — right down at numbers 75 and 76.

Relegated to near oblivion after the recent election, the last two remaining CLP members certainly have their work ahead of them to move up the list and stay relevant.

Anyway, let us know what you think of our choices in the comment section below.

The Most Powerful list caused a sensation when the NT News first published it during the 2008 wet season.

Within days, it became known simply as The 120.

The rich and famous pretended they didn’t want to be on it, while their secretaries telephoned to plead for them to be included.

Some people who knew they would be on the list lobbied to be higher up.

For some, not being on the list was the ultimate humiliation — they moved south.

Of course, this is the NT, where the only men who wear ties are politicians and the accused. Not for us, one of those forelock-tugging, respectful most powerful lists that you get in newspapers down south.

This year’s NT News’ Most Powerful is as irreverent as it has always been.

And just remember, you’ll have nothing to gossip about if you miss it.
