THE NT News’ 120 Most Powerful list is back ... and it’s already causing arguments.

In the NT News newsroom at least.

And according to some of our reader comments, our office isn’t the only place where our first 10 selections on Mondayday led to a few heated discussions.

Maybe that’s because our list has got even more attitude than ever this year.

And you’ll only find it, exclusively, on the NT News website ntnews.com.au, which counts down from numbers 110-101 today.

Just click on each picture in our interactive graphic below to find out a bit more about our list makers and why we’ve placed them where we have.

What did you think of our choices today?

There’s sure to be some discussion over our decision to include both Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer of the NT Police Organised Crime Division and Andy Summerfield, the Darwin Rebels motorcycle gang president, in the same 10-strong grouping.

Also, what do you think of our call to put former Chief Minister Adam Giles in the list? His fall from the giddying heights of the top few last year to just scraping in this year must be demoralising. But should he still be there at all?

Anyway, let us know what you think of our choices in the comment section below.

The Most Powerful list caused a sensation when the NT News first published it during the 2008 wet season.

Within days, it became known simply as The 120.

The rich and famous pretended they didn’t want to be on it, while their secretaries telephoned to plead for them to be included.

Some people who knew they would be on the list lobbied to be higher up.

For some, not being on the list was the ultimate humiliation — they moved south.

Of course, this is the NT, where the only men who wear ties are politicians and the accused. Not for us, one of those forelock-tugging, respectful most powerful lists that you get in newspapers down south.

This year’s NT News’ Most Powerful is as irreverent as it has always been.

And just remember, you’ll have nothing to gossip about if you miss it.
