New Year’s health resolution that led to Rebel Wilson’s new look
Rebel Wilson has been attracting plenty of attention as her “Year of Health” continues and now her life has changed in another big way.
Actress Rebel Wilson kicked off the new year the same way many of us do, with a resolution to be healthier.
But while most of us had forgotten our pledge come February, the star has stuck to hers in an inspiring way.
At the time she wrote on Instagram: “OK so for me 2020 is going to be called ‘The Year of Health’.
“So I put on the athleisure and went out for a walk, deliberately hydrating on the couch right now and trying to avoid the sugar and junk food, which is going to be hard after the holidays I’ve just had but I’m going to do it! Who’s with me in making some positive changes this year?”
In June this year, Wilson spoke to Sunrise about her healthy 2020 saying she was on a “health mission”.
“I’ve been doing a lot of working out, which was hard with the coronavirus restrictions because I had to go out to the park and just lie on the dirt doing my sit-ups,” she said.

Her first step was enlisting celebrity trainer Jono Castano to guide her along the way.
In an interview with E! earlier this year, her trainer explained he had created a specific program for Wilson covering six days.

Castano said he encourages his clients to workout daily for 45-minute sessions, noting “results come through consistency”.
His personalised program for the star included high-intensity interval training, mobility, weights, resistance, technique and tempo. Wilson has one day off a week to rest her body.
Wilson became famous after starring in Fat Pizza in 2003 when she was only 22-years-old.
Shortly after, in 2005 she appeared in the hilarious Bogan Pride before finding fame in Hollywood appearing in Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect.

The actress has adopted the Mayr Method on her journey for better health, something she came across while visiting Austrian wellness centre VivaMayr, according to People.
One of their secrets is to eat high alkaline whole foods – very slowly. They aim to count 30 chews per mouthful of food, and also hints at fasting.
Wilson has not been shy about sharing her gruelling workout sessions with fans.

Her trainer uploaded a video recently showing the actress using a medicine ball to smash out a core and upper body workout.
“That’s it, as hard as you can,” the celebrity trainer can be heard saying in the background before counting down from seven to one.
Captioning the post, he wrote: “The ball didn’t stand a CHANCE! Work it gurl @rebelwilson.”

Along the way Rebel’s celebrity pals and fans have been her biggest cheerleaders.
After posting a gorgeous series of snaps in a Gucci dress to Instagram recently, celebrities flooded her comments.
“Sooooo pretty Rebs xoxo,” fellow Aussie star Lucy Durack said.
Close friend Hugh Sheridan let the emojis do the talking for him, posting smiley faces, a ‘100’ emoji and of course, the trusty ‘fire’.
Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Austin left a simple yet effective comment: “Gorgeous.”
“Stunning,” wrote professional tennis player Jelena Dokic, along with the hands-praising and love-heart eyes emojis.

Similar messages came flowing in when she was pictured in a stunning blue Alex Evenings wrap dress.
“Werk. You delicious babe!” said Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer.
“If I could like this pic numerous times I would,” wrote fellow Aussie actress Ruby Rose.
Wilson’s close friend and frequent workout buddy Hugh Sheridan wrote: “You look so HOT!” while Olympian Rennae Stubbs chimed in: “Look at this supermodel.”
“Sweet baby Jesus! You look amazing,” wrote trainer Castano.

Rebel’s career hit its peak when she starred in the global franchise Pitch Perfect, pushing her into global stardom.
In the movie, her character poked fun at herself with the self-proclaimed nickname ‘Fat Amy’.
However Wilson has admitted she was paid to play these similar types of roles.
The comic exclusively told The Sun in June that she chose to kickstart her health journey after years of being bigger had messed with her head.
“It’s not like I want to lose weight and get to around a certain number. It’s more than that, it’s about dealing mentally with why I was overeating and I had a job where I was paid a lot of money to be bigger, at times which kind of can mess with your head a bit.”

Wilson’s credits also include killer roles in movies such as Isn’t It Romantic, The Hustle, Jojo Rabbit, Cats, and even got a hosting gig for Channel 7’s Pooch Perfect.
Rebel’s most recent venture is working on the show LOL: Last One Laughing on Amazon.

Meanwhile, Wilson has also found love.
This week, the star made her red carpet debut with boyfriend Jacob Busch.
The star and her 29-year-old boyfriend attended Prince Albert’s Planetary Health Gala in Monaco.
The two were introduced last year but only started dating when Wilson returned to the US after quarantining in Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“They are officially boyfriend and girlfriend,” a source told People magazine. “He’s a gentleman, has very old school manners and treats her well.
“He is also very health conscious and they’ve been motivating each other with their health journeys.”
Wilson also made their relationship Instagram official when she posted a photo standing alongside Busch and fellow actors Helen Mirren and Kate Beckinsale in Monaco.
