Will your favourite host be back on the airwaves in 2019?
As Melburnians jump in the car and road trip to all corners of the state, a new line-up of hosts will be taking over the airwaves for summer. Here’s who you’ll be hearing when you switch the radio on and if favourite hosts will be returning in 2019.

As Melburnians jump in the car and road trip to all corners of the state, a new line-up of hosts will be taking over the airwaves for summer.
NOVA 100 in the lead up to Christmas will be playing highlights from Chrissie, Sam & Browny’s show in the 6am-9am slot.
Over on 3AW, the breakfast show hosting duties have fallen to Kate Stevenson and Stephen Quartermain. Regular hosts Neil Mitchell, duo Ross Stevenson and John Burns and Tom Elliot will be returning to their normal slots on January 14th eager to continue their ratings dominance in Melbourne.
On January 21st, GOLD 104.3 regulars including breakfast host Christian O’Connell will be returning to the mike.
Despite heavy speculation of retirement, Jon Faine will be returning to ABC Radio in 2019 to host Mornings and the Conversation Hour.
Aside from the Mike Perso and Jennifer Hansen taking a break, the majority of smoothfm’s day time line-up will remain the same over summer.
KIIS 101.1, FOX and Triple M will be featuring a range of announcers throughout December and January.
So far no commercial radio stations have announced any major shake-ups to their line-ups for 2019. However, Lindy Burns and Hilary Harper have stepped down from hosting duties at ABC radio.
Come mid-January most announcers will be back on the airwaves.

SUMMER RADIO SCHEDULE AND HOSTS
3AW
The 3AW breakfast show will be hosted by Kate Stevenson and Stephen Quartermain until Ross Stevenson and John Burns return from their summer break.
For mornings, Neil Mitchell will hand over the mike to Tony Jones and Heidi Murphy while Nick McCallum will be driving listeners home in the new year. Until then, Justin Smith will be at the helm for drive.
All regular hosts return to the airwaves on January 14th in their regular timeslots.
Nova 100
Starting from Monday 17th until December 21st, the Chrissie, Sam & Browny show will be replaced with an array of their best moments from the year.
Troy Ellis will be taking over the mike from 9am-2pm, while from 2pm to 6pm David McClung will be driving Melburnians home. Cale Porter will then be hosting the night show from 6pm-10pm.
Starting on Boxing Day, there will be various announcers in breakfast, across the day and into the evening
All regular hosts will be returning on Monday 21 January to their regular timeslots
GOLD 104.3
GOLD will be featuring ‘Better Music and More of it, all Summer Long’ throughout the day during December and January. Regular scheduling, including the Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show will be returning on January 21st.
Smooth FM 91.5
While Mike Perso and Jennifer Hansen take a well earned break from the More Music Breakfast Show, Karen Prater and Nikole Gunn will be hosting the breakfast show until December 21st. Simon Diaz will then be jumping into breakfast show until January 11. Mike and Jennifer will be back on air Monday 14 January. The majority of smoothfm’s day time line-up will remain the same over summer.
ABC Radio Melbourne
Despite heavy speculation of retirement Jon Faine will be returning to ABC radio for his 22nd year at the Morning program. In his absence over summer, Mornings will be presented by Ali Moore.
Breakfast duo Jacinta Parsons & Sami Shah, as well as Myf Warhurst, Richelle Hunt, Raf Epstein will all be returning on January 21st. David Astle will be taking overs Evenings in 2019, picking up the baton from Lindy Burns.
SEN
Terry Wallace, Darren Berry, Brett Philips, Sam Edmund and John Hastings will be sharing host duties over the course of an action packed summer of sport. Gary Lyon and Tim Watson will be back to early morning wake ups on January 21st. Drive time duo Kevin Bartlett and The Doc will also be back on January 21st, despite speculation in October, Bartlett may leave the radio station. Gerard Whateley will return to his regular spot on January 29th.
Triple M
Comedian Richard Stubbs and Rosemary Walton will be hosting Hot Breakfast while Eddie McGuire and co take a break for two weeks. Regular programming will return on Monday 21st of January.
KIIS 101.1
KIIS Summer Break will be featuring a range of announcers including Gordie, Joel, Mitch Churi and Kian across the day throughout December and January. Jase & PJ and Will & Woody return on Jan 21.
Hit Network/FOX 101. FM
Those Two Girls are hosting breakfast nationally across the Fox FM until Christmas. If you’re a fan of Fifi, Fev and Byron as well as Hughesy and Kate the FOX FM favourites will return on January 21st.
