Latest radio ratings show 3AW, Fox and Smooth still rule but better signs for Whateley, Triple M
THE dominance of 3AW in the mornings and Fox and Smoothfm across the FM dial has continued but there are signs of life for several struggling shows in the latest ratings figures.

THE breakfast dominance of 3AW on Melbourne radio has continued as has Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev and Byron in the FM wars.
The latest radio ratings survey shows Triple M’s Hot Breakfast team of Eddie McGuire, Luke Darcy and Wil Anderson have made a gain of 0.7 but still trail leaders FOX FM, Smoothfm and Nova.
GOLD FM’s Christian O’Connell dropped 0.7, while ABC breakfast rose 1.5 to a 10.0 share.

SEN’s high profile recruit Gerard Whateley gained 2.0 to almost double the last survey result. Breakfast also recorded a small rise as did other programs across the board.
Triple M’s Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy broke a run of poor results with a 1.9 rise.
They still trail Nova, GOLD, Smooth and long time leaders on FOX FM, Carrie Bickmore, Tommy Little, Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek — who have a 10.5 per cent share.
Macquarie Sports Radio, which rebranded from Talking Lifestyle, managed very slight growth.
For the second survey in a row Smoothfm was the most listened to FM radio station with a 9.9 per cent audience share in Melbourne.
It held the top evening FM slot, and also ruled weekends with a share of 11.3 per cent.
In a statement, NOVA Entertainment group program director, Paul Jackson, said smoothfm had preformed strongly all year and “we couldn’t be happier with today’s results”.
