The Source: Bec Judd activewear label Jaggad celebrates 10 years with spare no expense party

Activewear favourite Jaggad, helmed by Bec Judd and Michelle Greene, marked 10 years in business with dinner at Reine and La Rue and a night at the ballet. Pity staff weren’t invited.

Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.

Celebrations can be a jagged little pill ... especially at yuppie activewear favourite Jaggad.

The label, helmed by Bec Judd and Michelle Greene, clocked up 10 years of business with a lavish dinner at hotspot Reine and La Rue, attended by friends of the brand including stylist Lana Wilkinson, designer Effie Kats, broadcaster Lauren Phillips, and former WAGs Jeri Jones, Nadia Bartel and Kylie Brown.

After the meal, guests were taken by “luxe coach” to the Australian Ballet’s performance of Swan Lake at the Arts Centre.

But further scrolling of Jaggad’s Insta revealed another tier of celebration for the label’s hard working team.

This shindig included a cake, sausage rolls, prawns and mayo, grapes, a bowl of granny smith apples, and bubbly on ice.

No Swan Lake here, but a relative turkey compared to the other party.

Wine with Lindsay, Grand Final: How Dan celebrated retirement

The days following ex-premier Dan Andrews’ sudden exit from politics have been well documented.

On Wednesday last week, he had a family dinner at Gimlet in the city.

On Friday, he had drinks for staff at Trades Hall Council.

On Saturday, he played golf at National Golf Course at Cape Schanck, infuriating some club members who said Andrews’ morning tee-off time breached club rules.

Some more gaps can now be filled.

On Friday night, Andrews is thought to have sipped very expensive red wine with Fox family members in Toorak.

The Fox family likes French wine, and price tags of $25,000 a bottle for the occasion have been tossed about, although such sumptuous speculations cannot be confirmed.*

What else?

Well, it’s said that wife Cath requested five grand final tickets from the AFL for last Saturday’s blockbuster.

It’s rumoured that the request was made on Monday — the day before her husband’s political exit — and the tickets were thought to have been granted.

It’s unknown whether the same request made after Tuesday, for the wife of a now fast-retiring politician, would have yielded the same successful outcome.

A government spokesperson said: “Mrs Andrews attended the Grand Final as a guest of the AFL. Mr and Mrs Andrews declined the AFL’s kind invitation to attend the official function.”

*For fun, the Source looked up what $25,000 buys for a bottle of wine. According to Langton’s, a 1955 Penfolds Bin 145 Grange Hermitage Shiraz is worth between $18,000-$23,000. If you prefer French, the Domaine de la Romanée Conti La Tâche Grand Cru Monopole 2015, Côte de Nuits is a steal at about $14,000. The Source humbly suggests that a 2021 Penfolds 389, at about $100 a bottle, might be more within the reach of an average Victorian on a splurge.
