Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers
One of the many and varied roles of Melbourne’s Lord Mayor is to be the No. 1 cheerleader for the city. And gee, Nick Reece has taken on this role with gusto since his election last October.
“Melbourne is the best and fairest city in the world,’’ he shouted ad nauseam during the campaign. And ever since he has been championing every event and sporting contest in a manner that would make John So, the original mascot mayor, proud.
So The Source was surprised, to say the least, to hear that Reece had left the City of Melbourne.
Yes, he’s jumped the city borders and moved back to his old Clifton Hill property which is nestled in the Stephen Jolly-run socialist republic of the City of Yarra. Welcome comrade!
But we’re reliably informed that the move has been forced.
The digs he was renting in Carlton are being sold from under him so he and his family have decamped to across the border.
The Source is assured it’s only temporary while he searches for a new home within the city limits.
So if you see him at any ‘open for inspections’, say hi from The Source.
