If you’re looking for a mini-break, this tiny Chum Creek holiday house could be the perfect find.

Sitting on 12ha, with a stunning view of the Yarra Ranges and no sign of civilisation, the little self-sustainable, blue house on the hill is a compact way to spend a romantic weekend away.

With a bed that is surrounded by windows, it could feel as like you are sleeping under the stars.

FAMILY’S TINY HOUSE HAS BIG FUTURE

Lilydale brother and sister duo Ben and Aimee Stanton are the creative minds behind Tiny Stays.

Mr Stanton said the idea came about after he had stayed in friends tiny houses while travelling in the US.

“It’s about encouraging people to get back to nature,” he said.

“You still have the luxuries you would have at a boutique hotel and a comfy bed at the end of the day is what matters.”

The land is leased by the pair and visitors can expect to see an array of wildlife off the tiny doorstep including resident cows, deer and kangaroos.

Inside the off-grid weatherboard is a bed, sink, stove, fridge and small bathroom.

Mr Stanton said the house was solar powered, had a composting toilet, and its own water tank.

Since going live with their alternative accommodation, the house has been fully booked.

“I think we appeal to a mix of clients, including those in the tiny house community who want to try it out before committing,” Mr Stanton said.

“It might look good on Netflix but could be completely different. It also depends how close you and your partner are.”

He said you don’t need a huge amount of space and there were some creative storage solutions inside their tiny house.

But Mr Stanton said Tiny Stays were planning on expanding to places including the Mornington Peninsula, Bellarine Peninsula, and around Daylesford and Macedon.
