A groundswell of support has flooded in for Nadia Bartel in the wake of her shock split with AFL legend husband, Jimmy, with her fellow WAGs publicly voicing their admiration for the heartbroken mother of two.
Nadia Bartel’s loyal group of high-profile friends publicly expressed its love and support for her and her public response following the breakdown of her marriage.
Rebecca Judd, Emma Hawkins, Brit Davis, Jessie Murphy, Rebecca Harding, Renee Enright, Elyse Knowles, Lauren Phillips, Kylie Brown, Lana Wilkinson and Marie Uva are among close friends who publicly voiced their love and support for Nadia yesterday.
Rebecca Judd wrote: “An amazing wife, mother, business woman and friend who is as caring, loving and loyal as they come. She deserves the world. I ADORE you @nadiabartel.”
Former fellow Geelong WAG Enright wrote: She’s the most incredible mother, sister, daughter and friend. I could not be more proud of your strength my beautiful Nonna @nadiabartel Such a dignified response in what is such an awful time. ♥♥ LOVE YOU.”
Celebrity hairdresser and friend Marie Uva said: “Beautiful inside and out, successful and an amazing mother. You deserve all the happiness in the world @nadiabartel and you have an army of people behind you that all love you.
While celebrity stylist Lana Wilkinson added: “An incredible mother, business woman and friend — @nadiabartel we are lucky to have you in our lives and are right behind you”
It comes after Nadia yesterday broke her silence in the Herald Sun, revealing her heartbreak over discovering via text message that the father of her two boys Aston, 3, and Henley, nine months, had been in a long-term relationship with UK-based Melbourne girl Lauren Mand.
In a restrained and dignified response to the public interest in the split, Nadia admitted it had been a very difficult month for her and the boys.
“Although I’m heartbroken, I don’t want to comment specifically on what’s been reported about Jim’s trip to the UK as I don’t think that is in anyone’s interests,” she said.
“My single focus now is to continue to protect, care and provide for my two beautiful boys as this is a personal matter.
“I am so thankful for my very supportive family and friends.”
Fellow Geelong footy club player’s partners including Joel Selwood’s fiancee Brit Davis and Tom Hawkins’ wife Emma added their support.
“The most beautiful person inside and out,” wrote Davis. “One of the most gorgeous people inside and out,” Hawkins said.
Lauren Phillips added: “One of the most gorgeous girls inside and out. Deserves all the happiness and kindness in the world.”
Jimmy flew to London six weeks ago during the AFL’s bye period and the couple separated upon his return. He has since moved out of the family home.
Their split emerged last week after rumours surfaced when they unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Jimmy addressed his personal situation when he fronted up to work on Saturday on 3AW’s pre-game AFL coverage.
“It’s not great, but I am probably not going to provide any commentary on it,” Bartel said.
“I know I am in the public eye and people are interested, but it is a private matter and I ask for a bit of respect because obviously Nadia and the boys (are) involved.
“I still enjoy coming to work and I love working with everybody in football. I love the game so I can’t see why I wouldn’t keep showing up for work.”
GLAMOUR COUPLE’S LIFE BEFORE IT COLLAPSED
Jimmy and Nadia wed in February 2014 at a lavish ceremony on the Bellarine Peninsula, after he popped the question on a private Mexico beach.
At the time she said it was “the most magical day of my entire life”, describing her new husband as “the man of my dreams”.
Triple-premiership player Jimmy, 35, played 305 games for Geelong in a stellar career spanning 14 years, winning the Brownlow Medal in 2007 and the Norm Smith Medal in 2011. He was an All-Australian in 2007 and 2008.
He retired from playing at the end of the 2016 season and is a respected AFL match commentator on TV and radio.

He has also taken up roles with Our Watch to campaign against disrespect towards women.
Nadia started popular lifestyle blog The Chronicles Of Nadia and also runs The Connection — a successful online fashion business.
She is due to attend a Women Driving Change luncheon with Mercedes-Benz Melbourne next Wednesday.
Last year, she and Jimmy were co-hosts on the Brownlow red carpet coverage for Channel 7 and Nadia is expected to again be part of the coverage next month.
