Bec Judd says she and her husband Chris have separate bank accounts and share the bills.
Bec, a television presenter, homewares designer and model, said she and AFL legend Chris considered having joint savings, but decided “things were going really well with us having separate accounts”.
“We have full transparency and log-ins for each other’s accounts and we can spy on each other if we wanted to,” she said on KIIS-FM.
“He’s got certain things that he pays for, and I’ve got certain things that I pay for, like utilities, holidays, and food. I’ve got school fees; he’s got things, I’ve got things.”
Bec said if one of them is running low, “we’ll do a transfer from one to the other,” adding with a laugh: “My accountant must think I’m bats--- cray.”
Asked who pays the bill when they eat out, Bec answered: “Usually him, sometimes me, whoever’s closest to the bill.”
When radio hosts Jason Hawkins and Polly Harding said the dinner date sounded “romantic”, Bec laughed: “No, that died a long time ago. We’ve been together for almost 17 years.”
Judd said couples shouldn’t do joint bank accounts if they’ve “only been dating for a little while”.

She added: “That’s just headaches. You wouldn’t get it locked in until you knew this was the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with.”
“How long with you were with Juddy before you put it all in?” Hawkins asked about having the bank account conversation with her husband.
“You mean put out?” Bec said laughing. “A very long time … six months.”
Bec also revealed she recently hosted a sleepover party for son Oscar’s eighth birthday.
Her young party guests watched shark movie, The Meg, after Bec cleared it with other parents.
