Lauren Phillips ‘excited’ by new TV role after marriage split

TV presenter Lauren Phillips has been keeping tight-lipped on her shock split from husband of just a year Lachlan Spark. Now she says she’s looking forward to what’s to come after “coming out” of an emotional 2018.

Lauren Phillips is making a fresh start after her split from husband Lachlan Spark.

Phillips will start the year working as a reporter at the Australian Open for Nine’s coverage.

“I’m excited to start a new year in a really positive way and with some really exciting opportunities,’’ said Phillips, who recently had surgery on her hip.

“I’ve recovered from that (surgery) and I’ve come out of 2018 and I’m really excited. I’m not exactly sure what this year has in store for me yet but I can’t wait to find out.”

Spark was seen on dating apps last week but Phillips declined to comment.

“We’re keeping everything else really private or as private as possible,’’ she said.

Phillips said the tennis was a staple childhood event.

“I grew up going to the Australian Open so it’s exciting to be part of the broadcast for the first year,’’ she said.

“I’m a big Roger Federer fan, he’s my favourite and I’m excited to meet all the Aussies.”
