‘She told him to stop’: Rapist supplied victim drugs before assault

A GOLD Coast concreter raped a woman hours after selling her the drugs ice and fantasy.

Nathan Lee Witika then hit the woman in the face with a guitar as she tried to escape him.

The 41-year-old pleaded guilty in the Southport District Court on Thursday to rape, assault occasioning bodily harm and two counts of supplying dangerous drugs.

Bikie ex pleads guilty over ‘embarrassing’ gun plot

THE ex-girlfriend of a former bikie gang boss tried to sell two guns to an undercover police officer in an attempt to make a profit.

Rhianna Jade Frickmann was caught as a part of an ongoing operation into the sale of guns by police in March and April 2014.

Frickmann, who now lives on the Sunshine Coast, pleaded guilty in the Southport District Court on Friday to two counts of supplying weapons.

Bizarre theft shocks Coast junior sporting club

A GOLD Coast junior sporting club has been left out of pocket and reeling after thieves stole up to 20 safety bollards which were being used for community events.

Mudgeeraba Soccer Club secretary Jacqueline Buxton said between 12 to 20 of the bollards were stolen from the club on Tuesday night.

The bollards weighed 6kg each and were being used to keep crowds back as a Covid precaution for the KPI Sports Gold Coast Champion’s Cup and an upcoming community colour run.

Girl, 11, allegedly raped in toilets at Gold Coast unit complex

A FORMER pizza worker twice pulled an 11-year-old girl into the toilets of a Gold Coast unit complex pool and sexually assaulted her, police will allege.

The 26-year-old was released from bail after he appeared in Southport Magistrates Court this week charged with rape and indecent treatment of a child under 12.

The Bulletin understands he will be contesting the charges.

A GOLD Coast labourer used his own car as the getaway vehicle for a brazen daylight armed robbery at a pawn shop in Robina.

Cleve Frederick Shaw then tried to hide the robber Jason Konow in the boot of the car – in full view of CCTV cameras in the car park.

It took police two days to track down Shaw who had driven the car home to the Mudgeeraba caravan park.

Bankrupt former Brisbane lawyer Michael Kemp has been restrained by a court from advertising that he is entitled to practise and ordered to take down some social media posts.

The Queensland Law Society recently launched Supreme Court action against Mr Kemp and Justice David Jackson today ordered an injunction proposed by QLS.

The peak industry body had sought orders forcing Mr Kemp to delete a raft of online posts which promoted his no-win/no-fee “personal injury assistance’’ referral service, trading as Kemp Help.

Dylan Eruera Johnson told the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday: “I made a mistake … I should have let it go.” He pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.

$2m ‘Irish Boys’ scam ringleader denied early prison release

ONE of the ringleaders of the “Irish Boys” boiler room scheme which used fake software to scam more than $2 million has had his bid to be released early from prison denied.

Stiofan Ceitinn, one of the owners of the sophisticated fraud operation, went to the Queensland Court of Appeal to have his eight-year sentence reduced.

He claimed it was manifestly excessive.
