The ex-girlfriend of a former bikie gang boss caught trying to sell guns in a police sting says she’s “embarrassed” by her actions.

Bikies in Australia- A short history

THE ex-girlfriend of a former bikie gang boss tried to sell two guns to an undercover police officer in an attempt to make a profit.

Rhianna Jade Frickmann was caught as a part of an ongoing operation into the sale of guns by police in March and April 2014.

Frickmann, who now lives on the Sunshine Coast, pleaded guilty in the Southport District Court on Friday to two counts of supplying weapons.

Her plea came after three days of a trial.

Frickmann gave an emotional apology to the court.

“I understand everything in my past was not the right decision.

“It’s actually embarrassing and I don’t remember most of it.

“This hearing has been a sentence, not only to myself but to my family

“I would advise anybody not to make a decision like this.

“It’s stupid and to put your family through this is not fair.”

Crown prosecutor Lara Soldi told the court Frickmann first tried to sell a .33 caliber to the undercover officer in Southport.

That deal did not go ahead.

Days later Frickmann introduced the officer to a man known as “Kev” for the sale of another gun.

While she was there the undercover officer inspected the gun.

Before the deal was finalised Frickmann was cut out of the transaction.

“Guns can kill and carry out extraordinary damage,” Ms Soldi said.

“Australians have been fortunate to live in a country where gun violence is extremely rare and that is why such conduct is and should be treated extremely seriously by the courts.

“People who engage in the sale of black market guns put the entire community at risk.”

Judge Rowan Jackson sentenced Frickmann to two years’ prison, wholly suspended.

Defence barrister Russell Pearce, instructed by Oden Legal, said at the time of the offending Frickmann had been dating the sergeant-at-arms of the Rebels bikie gang.

“Offending occurred when in that environment,” he said.

“She was addicted to ice and effectively permanently in a drug haze.”

Mr Pearce said since that offending Frickmann had taken steps to get clean and turn her life around.

There is no suggestion of offending since then.

She has recently moved to the Sunshine Coast and is opening a butcher shop with her new husband.
