In terms of goalscorers, Surfers Paradise's Bruno Rodriguez, who will line up in FQPL 2 for the newly-promoted Apollo side, may have tied 50th overall across all leagues in 2021 but led the Premier League (now rebranded as FQPL 3) with 22 goals in 2021.
Southport's Morgan Saunders, now at Easts in the NPL, tied 78th overall in 2021 but came in second in the FQPL 3 with 18 goals.
Teammate Ferdinand Annor, set for QPL 1 side Western Pride in 2022, last season scored one fewer goal to finish equal 89th overall and third in the Gold Coast's top tier men's competition.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2022 CYBER LEAGUE AND PRIZES
Surfers Paradise's Hayden Sumner helped himself to 16 goals, while veteran teammate Teddy Watson scored 14 to round out the top five in 2021. Both will join Rodriguez in FQPL 2 in 2022.
However those voids open the door for new and old faces to shine.
Fikret Mehiz has moved to Runaway Bay from Musgrave and will likely be a hot prospect in the Cyber League.
Jayden Sonter (Musgrave) netted 12 goals and looks set for a big season.
Veteran cult hero Matt Hilton will remain the star striker for promoted Tallebudgera Valley after topping the scoring Coast League charts in 2021.
Shaun Robinson, arguably the all time goals leader in the top level on the Coast, will line up for Robina.

Overall in 2021 the Gold Coast's leading goalscorer was ... a goalkeeper.
Or at least, he was.
Meet Mudgeeraba U15 Division 1 star Lucas Schell who, with a staggering 64 goals in 21 matches, can claim to be the top goalscorer across all Football Gold Coast competitions in 2021.
‘Stupid amount of pain’: Footballer’s broken leg agony
Schell bagged six more goals than the second-best shooter and 20 more than third, topping The Bulletin’s comprehensive list of more than 180 players.
Averaging an incredible three goals per outing, Schell led the line for Mudgeeraba in its title-winning run that came to a thrilling conclusion with a 1-0 win over Runaway Bay.
Incredibly Schell, 15, spent the majority of his junior football playing between the posts.
It was as a goalkeeper that he moved to Gold Coast United to play within the club’s NPL system, but after falling out of love with the sport, Schell gave it away for three years.
“He’s come back (in 2021), had a run and the rest is history,” Mudgeeraba junior co-ordinator Matt Young declared in August 2021.
As brilliant a goalkeeper as Schell was, he vowed to never again pull on the gloves – and after his efforts in front of goal this season, Young saw no problem with that.
“He’s an incredible athlete,” Young said.
“He hadn’t played the game for three years. He walked away from it, from the pressure, and he’s come back just wanting to enjoy himself and look what he’s done.”
During his time away from football Schell focused on futsal, playing for Robina State High School.
It was there he honed his incredible technical skills, able to work within a shoebox of space – something that has translated well on his return to the pitch.
“He’s very quick too,” Young said.
“Not many people can track him when he goes for a run.
“He scored goals from all over the place this year ... from headers, too, as he’s quite a tall kid.”
But Schell’s best trait, perhaps, is his just how modest he is.
“He doesn’t like the limelight at all,” Young said of his star striker.
“He just wants to go about his business and do what he loves.
“Hes' just there to play with his mates, that’s the type of kid he is.
“He has a fantastic attitude. Never misses a training session. Loves the game and has no bravado.”
Schell tops a list of more than 180 players, ranked top to bottom by The Bulletin.
