After joining the Knights from Mudgeeraba this year, the 20-year-old proved a revelation with 10 goals in his side’s run to the Gold Coast Premier League double.
Saunders would have been a strong chance of making the Knights’ NPL squad but now appears destined to be part of Southport’s Coast League One campaign.

“At this stage I’m probably looking at Southport. I should be here for a few games and I know the coach (Rob Semple) pretty well,” Saunders said.
“If I was to stay (in Australia) longer then I’d like to play NPL but obviously it’s pretty hard for a club to commit (to you) when you’re only going to be here for a few games.”
