Dangerously doing doughnuts outside a police station and tearing up a Townsville sporting field were just some of the shocking hoon acts caught on camera in the last year.

The State Government introduced new legislation in April targeting hooning drivers, where they can be fined for viewing, participating or promoting “group hooning activity”.

Queensland Police Minister Mark Ryan said drivers would be punished.

“If you want to tear up our roads, we’ll tear up your car,” he said.

“If you want to be a spectator at a hooning event, you will be breaking the law. If you promote a hooning event it will be an offence.”

Here we look at the 10 wildest hooning videos across Queensland in the last year as hoons paid price for dangerous driving.

Michael Francis Newell

A 24-year-old Redlands man has been jailed for a month for what a magistrate said was the worst hooning she had ever dealt with.

“It is absolutely d***head behaviour,” said Magistrate Deborah Vasta in Cleveland Magistrates Court last year.

“You hit it big time; that is the worst hooning that I have seen and I have seen a lot of it. Most people usually do it for a bit of fun at a backstreet, not at such a dangerous location; not for such a long extended period.”
